Lot: 183 Large Blue and White Dragon Charger with a Xuande Mark The interior of the dish is finely painted in cobalt blue and features a five-clawed dragon amongst the clouds within the central medallion. The cavetto is decorated with peony scrolls below the everted rims painted with band of crashing waves, and the exterior is similarly decorated with peony scrolls. A globular body features short waisted neck and rolled rim. The body of the charger is decorated with a scene of officials meeting in a garden with bamboo fences. There are four rings at the shoulders with a band of classic scrolls above a band of lotus flower and leafy scrolls. As well there is a band of petal lappets above a key-fret border encircling the foot.
